My Story
Version 1:
My name is Marfa and I have great gastronomy tale! I was born in Moscow with a blend of international roots. My family always had a strong connection to wine, with a grandfather from Georgia, and another who made barrels for wineries of the area. The other side of my family has some Swedish roots.
I grew up in Tuscany, discovered my love for Italian food and wine while helping to run our family farm. We produced olive oil and Chianti Classico wine there!
I realized that this was more than just helping my family but it was my calling. Then I moved to United States for a year to structure my expertise, where I worked on farms and improved my English. I even had some time to enjoy surfing in California!
In the meanwhile, I also learned about Slow Food from my Georgian relatives who produced wine (Hey, did you know that wine was born in Georgia?!), and I fell in love with its philosophy.
This made me follow back my calling to Italy, and apply for the University of Gastronomic Sciences instead of continuing my studies in the United States, which was my initial idea. I graduated from the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo, and since then, I have worked with Slow Food International and in many wineries in Piedmont as a tour leader and a food photographer!
Plus, I speak five languages and therefore believe that we are all citizens of the world with a love for international environments. Today, I create unforgettable food and wine experiences that take the beauty of Langhe and Piedmontese culture to the world.
